Key Responsibilities- Deliver safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice for Labor and Delivery
- Direct and guide patient and family teaching, as well as the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the Birthplace
- Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition and/or response to treatment
- Provide a safe environment for patients and visitors
- Utilize the chain of command when necessary to ensure patient well-being and appropriateness of care for newborns and mothers during antepartum and postpartum periods
Required Qualifications- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California or compact eligibility
- Experience in Labor and Delivery nursing
- Ability to apply the nursing process in a fast-paced Labor and Delivery setting
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Preferred Experience / Skills- Prior travel nursing experience
- Experience caring for patients during antepartum and postpartum periods
- Familiarity with newborn care protocols
