The nurse will also be involved in the triage of obstetrical patients and the use of external fetal monitoring. Interdisciplinary support is available from various services including respiratory assistance, social services, and pharmacy. Travelers must be committed to working holidays as required by the facility. The unit cares for a range of patient age groups which includes neonates, adolescents, and adults. Patient ratios on days and nights are typically around 4:1. This position requires a commitment to patient-centered care and attention to detail in a dynamic environment.
