Description
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care throughout labor, delivery, and recovery in a 16-LDR, 3-OR, 3-Triage unit
Perform triage assessments and antepartum care
Circulate for C-section procedures
Provide first-hour newborn care (excluding admission assessment, eyes and thighs) and breastfeeding assistance
Monitor patients using Novii fetal monitors and document care via CPN and Meditech EMR systems
Adhere to AWHONN patient ratios (1:1, 2:1, or up to 3:1 for low-acuity patients)
Required Qualifications
Active RN license valid in Virginia
Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience
Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring certification required (completed within the previous 2 years)
Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
Current BLS certification required
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience at high-volume facilities with more than 3,000 births per year
Strong commitment to patient-centered care
Comfort working in a culturally diverse environment
