Job Title: Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of LDRP experience License: Current Registered Nurse license Certifications: BLS, NRP, Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring Must-Have: - Experience with cervical exams, amnio infusions, epidurals, and fetal monitoring - Proficient in IV starts and management, Pitocin administration, and post-delivery care - Basic breastfeeding education skills Description: Are you interested in Clinical Interviewing? Ideal candidates will be comfortable with all aspects of postpartum care from transition to discharge for moms and babies. Patient types include those 32 weeks and above with lower risk conditions. Common diagnoses include hypertension, medication management for substance abuse, and elevated BMI. RNs will continue to care for patients post-delivery in the same room. Patient ratios are 1:1 for laboring, 1:2 for active labor, and 1:3 for couplets. Support within the department includes technical staff and healthcare professionals. Anesthesia for Labor and Delivery is always on call as well as healthcare providers. Management is available during the day with hospitalists on site 24/7. A lactation consultant will meet with every patient before discharge. Technological equipment includes EMR systems and monitoring devices. Schedules include weekend rotations every 4th weekend with on-call responsibilities. Holiday expectations are every other holiday, with requests for time off approved within 7 days. Scrubs will be provided for staff.
