Job Summary
Join a dedicated healthcare team in Chillicothe, Ohio, for a 13-week travel assignment within a Level 2 Labor and Delivery unit. This role focuses on providing comprehensive care to obstetric patients delivering at 32 weeks gestation and above.
The successful candidate will be integral to managing the full spectrum of the labor and delivery process, from initial patient triage and circulating during cesarean sections, to collaboratively managing labor with physicians and midwives, and ensuring thorough post-delivery recovery for both vaginal and C-section patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive triage assessments for obstetric patients.
- Act as a circulating nurse during cesarean section procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians and midwives to manage the labor and delivery process for patients 32 weeks gestation and above.
- Provide skilled recovery care for patients following both vaginal and cesarean deliveries.
- Monitor maternal and fetal well-being throughout the labor and delivery continuum.
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum experience: Not specified.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Five (5) or more years of experience in Labor & Delivery.
- Previous travel nursing experience.
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) system.
Skills & Competencies
- Expertise in obstetric patient assessment and triage.
- Proficiency in circulating for cesarean sections.
- Strong knowledge of labor management techniques and delivery assistance.
- Competence in postpartum and post-operative recovery care.
- Excellent critical thinking, communication, and collaborative skills.
- Ability to manage high-acuity situations in a fast-paced environment.
Shift Details
- Shift Type: Days (AM)
- Hours: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM (12-hour shifts)
- Days per Week: 3
- Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend required.
