Job TitleRegistered Nurse - Labor & Delivery / Med-Surg

Schedule / Job TypeContract | Night Shift (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) | Every 3rd weekend required (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) | Holiday rotation with permanent staff
Key Responsibilities- Serve as primary nurse in the Labor & Delivery unit, managing active labor patients at a 1:1 ratio and triage at a 1:3-4 ratio
- Provide postpartum, nursery, and mother-baby couplet care in addition to L&D duties
- Perform C-section prep; responsible for newborn care post-delivery (C-section experience required)
- Float to the Medical/Surgical unit and take patient assignments of 3-4 (up to 5) patients on night shifts
- Participate in holiday rotation as needed to meet facility staffing needs
Required Qualifications- Active RN license
- ACLS certification required
- BLS certification required
- Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification required
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
- C-section experience required; must be comfortable with pre-operative prep
- Ability to float to Med-Surg and independently manage a patient assignment
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience in a low-volume or rural L&D setting
- Comfort with cross-training across L&D, postpartum, nursery, and medical-surgical units
- Adaptability to a small unit environment with variable census (approximately 8-15 births per month)
