Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 26 Weeks Shift: Day 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 Year Experience Required High-Risk Experience Required License: Active Compact License Required Certifications: Required: BLS, NRP Preferred: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate Must-Have: Must have high-risk experience. Must be able to work in fast-paced, high-acuity environments. Must be open to floating between units. Must be prepared to work every other weekend and holidays as needed. Description: Candidates are expected to provide care during labor and delivery, including newborn care and assessments. Experience with electronic fetal monitoring is essential. The unit handles high-risk and high-volume labor and delivery cases. Ability to circulate and provide neonatal care, including administering Vitamin K and assessing the newborn, is required. Familiarity with staffing guidelines and patient management is necessary. Candidates may be required to float to postpartum and antepartum units or other locations as necessary. All nursing staff must adhere to unit protocols and maintain a commitment to high standards of patient care. Travelers should expect to be flexible with scheduling and requests. Additional responsibilities include assisting with various labor and delivery procedures and supporting lactation and breastfeeding. Interdisciplinary support is available through multiple services, enhancing overall patient care.
