Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: Minimum of 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Active RN License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, NIHSS required Must-Have: Previous Charge Experience required Patient Ratio Experience preferred Description: Flexible start date in November. Nurses will rotate through triage, antepartum, labor, circulate, and transition. No post-partum responsibilities required. Knowledge of Cerner charting system preferred. Patient experiences include neonates, infants, and adults. Daily census may fluctuate with approximately 20 visits per day. Unit has a capacity of 10 beds. Nurses should be familiar with administration of blood products and antihypertensives. Experience in labor and delivery, including assistance with high-risk deliveries and vaginal deliveries, is essential. Competency in fetal heart rate pattern recognition and management is necessary. Ability to perform sterile vaginal exams and manage IV lines is also required. Experience supporting breastfeeding and lactation is preferred. Nurses must adhere to infection control protocols. Flexibility to work some holidays is expected. An on-site drug screen will be conducted prior to assignment. Failure to pass will result in cancellation of the assignment. Local radius restrictions may apply. Nurses should demonstrate effective pain assessment and management skills. Experience with multiple births and non-stress testing is a plus.
