Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Active RN License required Certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, FHM, NRP, NIHSS Must-Have: Previous Charge Experience required Patient Ratio Experience preferred Charting System Experience preferred, Cerner Description: Start date within the next 4-6 weeks preferred. Will consider a minimum of 13 weeks. Registered Nurse will rotate through triage, antepartum, labor, circulate, and transition. There will be no postpartum care involved. Requirements include BLS, ACLS, NRP, and NIHSS certifications. The skill set includes administration of blood and blood products, high-risk delivery assistance, and breastfeeding support. Additionally, knowledge of handling cesarean sections and performing sterile exams is essential. Experience with infant identification and insulin drips is needed. The patient age groups include neonates, infants, and adults. Expect fluctuations in daily census numbers. The unit typically handles 200-300 facility births per month. Candidates must have experience with external and internal fetal monitoring, IV placement and management, and triage of obstetrical patients. Recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns is crucial. The nursing staff is expected to be flexible with scheduling and adapt to patient needs. Successful candidates should be prepared to work during some holidays. An on-site drug screen will be conducted as part of the hiring process.
