Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor & Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 3 years in Labor and Delivery License: Current and valid nursing license required Certifications: BLS, NRP Must-Have: - Minimum 3 years of labor and delivery experience - Ability to pass written exam during orientation - Compliance with sanitary policies - Knowledge of common diagnoses in obstetrics and postpartum care Description: The role involves providing care to patients in labor and delivery. Understanding and adhering to patient care protocols is essential. RNs must demonstrate competence in managing laboring patients. Titrating medications such as Pitocin and Magnesium is required. RN staff will not be required to float unless critically necessary. Each shift includes a charge nurse who may also take patient assignments. There will be a need to provide care to postpartum, antepartum, and post-surgical GYN patients. RNs are expected to troubleshoot respiratory equipment, but not engage in advanced monitoring themselves. Shifts are typically scheduled for 12 hours with weekend and holiday requirements. Candidates should be prepared for a structured orientation that includes classroom learning and practical application. The facility emphasizes patient care quality and has received recognition for high patient experience scores. It is important that candidates are not employed in any competing facilities. Request for time off must be provided upfront, as additional requests may not be accommodated. Cancellation policy allows for limited shifts to be canceled by the facility. Charting is completed through an electronic system. A BSN is not required for this position.
