Job Opportunity – Labor & Delivery / Couplet Care RN – North Carolina

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15), 36 hours per week, 8 weekend shifts per 13-week contract. Call may be required if low census. Occasional floating may be required.
Highlights:
- Low-risk LDRP unit with 15 rooms and 17 beds, averaging 80 births per month
- Dual-role position requiring both Labor & Delivery and Couplet Care experience, including circulating for C-sections and PACU recovery
- Target ratios: 1:1-2 for labor patients, 1:3 for couplet care (may fluctuate based on unit needs)
- EPIC charting system with comprehensive orientation (24 hours: hospital orientation week plus two 12-hour unit shifts)
- 13-week contract with up to 7 days pre-approved time off available
- Scrubs provided, supportive interdisciplinary team including respiratory, pharmacy, physical therapy, and rapid response
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery AND Mother/Baby or Couplet Care (LDRP experience required)
- Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license)
- Required certifications: AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM), NRP, STABLE
- Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced
- First-time travelers accepted with appropriate experience
- Proficiency in antepartum care, fetal monitoring, IV therapy, medication administration (including magnesium sulfate, Pitocin, prostaglandins), neonatal care, postpartum care, and wound assessment
- Experience with circulating for cesarean sections, recovering C-section patients in PACU, and baby stabilization
- Competency with external/internal fetal monitoring, IUPC placement, epidural management, and recognition/treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
