Key Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs through history, observation, physical examination, and analysis of diagnostic data, providing age-specific nursing interventions consistent with the plan of care and standards of practice
• Foster an environment that demonstrates caring, compassion, and respect for patients, families, and visitors
• Utilize appropriate health and safety equipment to protect both patients and staff, and apply standard work related to Nursing Sensitive Quality Indicators
• Contribute to department performance through precepting and mentoring novice employees, as well as supporting hospital-system initiatives and Evidence Based Practices
• Demonstrate continued professional growth by setting goals and participating in educational offerings
• Float to assist in other like units as needed and perform all other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Carolina or compact state eligibility
• Experience in Labor and Delivery nursing
• Ability to provide age-specific, patient-centered care in alignment with established standards of practice

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience precepting or mentoring new nursing staff
• Familiarity with Evidence Based Practice initiatives in a hospital setting
• Experience floating to similar units within a hospital environment
