Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: LDRP Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2+ years in LDRP License: Must have valid state nursing license in hand prior to submission Certifications: BLS, NRP, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, FHMS Must-Have: Strong critical-thinking skills Ability to adapt to available resources Well-rounded clinical approach across a variety of responsibilities Telemetry Test required for contract compliance Description: Clinicians should be prepared to use strong critical-thinking skills. Adapting to available resources is essential. A well-rounded clinical approach is necessary across a variety of responsibilities. Travelers will complete a telemetry test onsite, typically during orientation. They will have two attempts to pass. Failure to pass after the second attempt will result in contract cancellation. Previous charge experience is preferred. Experience with community hospital settings is required. Familiarity with charting systems is preferred. Experience with low-risk labor and delivery is essential. Responsibilities include triage of obstetrical patients. Use of Electronic Fetal Monitoring is required. Maintenance of central lines (CVC/PICC) is expected. Nurses will manage insulin drips and circulate for C-sections. Recovery of C-sections and performing sterile vaginal exams is necessary. Understanding isolation precautions and personal protective equipment is essential. Nurses will use rapid response and code teams as needed. Interpreting dysrhythmias is a critical skill for this role. Knowledge of internal and external fetal monitoring is necessary. Placement and calibration of intrauterine pressure catheters will be required. Recognizing and treating abnormal fetal heart rate patterns is crucial. Nurses will administer blood and blood products. They will also draw venous blood and start and maintain IVs. Experience with infusion pumps, drips, and IV monitoring is needed. Knowledge of medications like antiseizure, antihypertensives, and magnesium sulfate therapy is important. Nurses will assist with vaginal deliveries, including forceps and vacuum extractions. Performing APGAR scores and collecting cord samples is required. Infant identification and discharge teaching to parents is expected. Nurses will manage metabolic screenings and newborn assessments. They will support breastfeeding and lactation. Foley catheter insertion and management experience is required. Understanding care for postpartum hemorrhage and pregnancy-induced hypertension is essential. Knowledge of vaccination administration is expected.
