Description:
Must live at least 50 miles away.
Schedule includes 3 x 12-hour shifts with an am/pm rotation, leaning more towards nights (approximately 70/30 or 80/20).
Patient population includes females of childbearing years, pregnant patients of varying gestational ages, laboring patients, and those undergoing scheduled procedures (e.g., C-sections, external cephalic versions, cerclage).
Triage issues may also be present.
The unit's activities include admissions, discharges, transfers, pre-op, and deliveries (both vaginal and cesarean).
Common equipment used in Labor and Delivery includes fetal monitors and electronic documentation systems.
