Required to work 3 x 12-hour night shifts. Patient population includes females of childbearing years. Focus is on pregnant patients at 17 weeks gestation, laboring patients, and scheduled procedures. Procedures include C-sections, external cephalic versions, and cerclage. Triage issues may also be addressed. Common activities in the unit include admissions, discharges, transfers, pre-op, and deliveries (both vaginal and C-section).
