# Job Opportunity – Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse – Virginia
Start Date: September 14, 2026
Location: Salem, Virginia
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week; four weekend shifts per four-week schedule; block scheduling available; huddle begins at 6:45 AM
Highlights:- 17-bed inpatient Labor & Delivery unit with 2 triage beds and 1:1-2 patient ratios
- Advanced maternal-fetal monitoring including Monica Novii, ambulatory telemetry monitors, and GE electronic fetal monitoring
- Documentation in Meditech and Centricity EMR systems
- Comprehensive obstetrical services including vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, external cephalic version (ECV), vacuum and forceps-assisted deliveries, and epidural placement assistance
- Float only to Mother-Baby/Postpartum units
- Hospital-provided scrubs for enhanced convenience
Requirements:- Active RN license
- BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
- AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring or C-EFM certification required
- Labor and delivery experience with proficiency in fetal heart rate strip interpretation
- Experience as circulator in cesarean sections and PACU recovery for spinal anesthesia
- Competency in IV insertion, lab draws, vaginal exams, blood administration, and nitrous oxide administration
- Knowledge of JADA and BAKRI devices, common OB medications, antepartum triage, and obstetrical complications and treatments
- Ability to set up delivery tables and assist with epidural placement
