Requirements:
- Active RN License in the state of Texas or compact state license
- Current BLS certification (AHA only)
- Current ACLS certification (AHA only)
- Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- Current certification in fetal monitoring: AWHONN Intermediate FHM or NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in perinatal or related nursing specialty preferred
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Completion of Perinatal RN Residency or recent experience in a Perinatal setting preferred
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care utilizing the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Administer medications and treatments following appropriate protocols; monitor for effectiveness and side effects
- Address the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and timely
- Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers
- Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers to optimize clinical outcomes
- Participate in New Nurse Orientation and complete organizational competency validations
