Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years of experience required License: Valid compact license required Certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate, ACLS (preferred) Must-Have: Epic experience required Description: Locals will be considered at the same rate. Perm candidates from any other facility are eligible for a travel contract if they have been separated for at least 3 months. All facilities honor an active compact license. Two years of experience required. This position does not accept first-time travelers. Patient diagnoses include labor and preterm labor. There are 8 labor rooms and 4 triage rooms. Responsibilities include circulating, assisting with OB-GYN, post-op, pre-op, scrub, low-risk antepartum, and low-risk labor and delivery. The nurse will be responsible for the administration of blood and blood products, cardioversion and defibrillation, cooling and warming blankets, drains, epidural pumps, PCA pumps, and syringe pumps. The position also requires wound vac management, heparin, insulin, and magnesium sulfate administration. Attendance at all deliveries and high-risk deliveries is required. Special procedures include GYN surgeries, couplet care, low-risk antepartum care, and transition nursery duties. Staffing ratios will be 1:1 to 1:3. The nurse may be required to float to post-partum and NICU based on skill set. Travelers may expect to float between nearby facilities. Travelers' refusal to float may result in the termination of the assignment. Providers will be supplied with necessary communication devices for work. Providers are responsible for submitting any work-related cell phone bills. No direct contact with facility contacts is allowed unless an interview has been agreed upon.
