Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years required, First-time travelers accepted License: Compact license required Certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate, ACLS (preferred) Must-Have: - Epic Experience - Ability to attend high-risk deliveries - Strong skills in labor and delivery care Description: This position is for a registered nurse specializing in labor and delivery. The nurse will work 3 consecutive 12-hour shifts during the day. The role involves caring for patients experiencing labor and preterm labor. The unit has 8 labor rooms and 4 triage rooms. The nurse will participate in all deliveries, including high-risk cases. Responsibilities include circulating for C-sections and recovery of C-section patients. Additionally, the nurse must be proficient in administering medications, including blood products and magnesium sulfate. The nurse will provide couplet care and assist in gynecological surgeries as needed. Staffing ratios typically range from 1:1 to 1:3. The nurse may be required to float to postpartum or other related areas. A supportive and collaborative work environment is emphasized. The position requires adherence to protocols and maintaining patient safety standards. Candidates must be prepared to manage a variety of patient diagnoses and use specialized equipment. Travelers may be required to commit to working during major holidays. Previous experience in a similar capacity is essential for success in this role.
