Responsibilities include administration of blood and blood products. Experience with antenatal care and antihypertensives is necessary. Candidates should be familiar with baby-friendly protocols and bladder assessment. Support breastfeeding and provide instructions to new mothers. Knowledge of cesarean sections, couplet care, and discharge teaching to parents is essential. Must be proficient in fundus, lochia, and perineum care. Experience with magnesium sulfate therapy and maintaining central lines is needed. Ability to assess newborns for hypoglycemia is necessary. Candidates should be able to perform non-stress tests (NST) and manage pain assessment. Vaccine administration experience is a plus. Familiarity with postpartum hemorrhage and managing pregnancy-induced hypertension is important. Must keep up with intravenous treatments and use external fetal heart monitoring equipment.
