Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in high acuity and high-paced environment preferred, with emphasis on high-risk experience. License: Active compact license required. Certifications: BLS, NRP; Preferred certifications include ACLS and AWHONN Advanced or Intermediate. Must-Have: Must have current supervisory references. Must have proof of required certifications with submission. Must pass clinical review. Candidates without the required skill sets will not be considered. Description: Locals will be considered at the same rate. Permanent candidates from other facilities are eligible for a travel contract if they have been separated for at least 3 months. All facilities honor active compact licenses. Candidates must have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience; no exceptions. Candidates must have current supervisory references and proof of required certifications. Candidates will work in a high-risk/high-volume Labor and Delivery unit. They will provide care to midwifery clients and support adult recovery services. They may be required to float to other related units. Experience with electronic fetal monitoring is mandatory. Candidates will function in the role of Baby Nurse during deliveries and continue care of newborns until transfer to postpartum. Candidates must be able to circulate and provide newborn care including assessments. The average daily census is 15 patients, with a volume of 500-600 deliveries per month. All scheduling will be done to meet unit needs. Candidates must be willing to work every other weekend and on holidays as needed. Special procedures and unit details pertain to high-risk and high-volume labor and delivery scenarios. Candidate must be comfortable working in fast-paced, high-acuity environments. Candidates should have experience in amnioinfusion, anticoagulation therapy, neonatal resuscitation, and various delivery support techniques. They must support breastfeeding and lactation as needed. Candidates may be expected to float between different facilities when required. Additional interdisciplinary support services are available as needed.
