The care environment includes a level II nursery. Labor and postpartum care occur in the same room and department. RNs must be competent in labor, postpartum, and nursery care. Nurses will work three 12-hour shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM. Every other weekend may be required. The unit features 10 bed LDRP with a level II nursery and one operating suite. Deliveries per month range from 50 to 65. All RNs are cross-trained in Labor and Delivery, couplet care, newborn nursery, and circulating of C-sections. Experience as a Labor and Delivery RN is emphasized.
