Job Title: Labor and Delivery Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Post Partum, Antepartum, Lactation, Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Current state nursing license Certifications: CPR, ACLS, NRP Must-Have: High-risk labor and delivery experience at a Level 1 Trauma Center is required. Description: We are seeking an experienced RN for our Labor and Delivery unit. The candidate must have a current nursing license and CPR, ACLS, and NRP certifications. Graduation from an accredited nursing program is also required, and education verification will be conducted. The RN will utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients. They will administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies and procedures, and standards of care. Documentation will be completed according to established standards of care. The RN will develop, initiate, and execute a patient plan of care based on the individualized needs of the patient, as determined by the physician and hospital policy, including patient and family instruction. Participation in department or unit performance improvement activities may be required, which may include shared governance. The RN will utilize clinical expertise to guide other units or departments in support of the patient’s longitudinal plan of care. Critical thinking will be essential for patient safety and experience, with appropriate escalation to the relevant chain of command when necessary. Holiday coverage will be required.
