Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 20 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum 2 Years License: Valid License Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate and/or NCC C-EFM Must-Have: OB, Mother/Baby, and Labor and Delivery experience Description: Start dates are preferred for August 24th or September 8th. Up to 26 weeks duration is offered. The nurse will work in all areas of Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP). Floating to assist as a sitter may be required. Floating to other facilities may occur based on census and need. No requested time off is allowed for the first 8 days of the contract. Patient ratios will adhere to established guidelines for staffing. Every other weekend work is required unless specified otherwise. The unit has 15 beds, including 3 triage bays and 2 operating rooms. Nurses provide antepartum care, labor and delivery support, operating room circulating roles, scrub nurse duties, newborn care at delivery, and couplet care. Nurses are responsible for performing lab draws and hearing screenings on newborns. Skills required include circulating and fetal monitoring triage experience. Scrubbing skills are preferred. Scrubs will be provided. The nurse will be trained to conduct newborn infant hearing screenings. Additional qualifications include experience with specific technologies and procedures involved in the specialty. Special procedures involve care for neonates, adolescents, infants, and adults. Interdisciplinary support services are available, including respiratory services and social services. Patient diagnoses are primarily obstetric.
