On-call requirement is 36 hours in a 6-week block. The unit services Labor and Delivery, post-partum, antepartum, and a Level II nursery. Level 2 inpatient obstetrical clientele are managed. The role includes providing care for Level 2 NICU neonatal clientele. GYN and medical overflow patients are also included. Responsibilities encompass antepartum patients and observational triage patients. Mother-baby couplet care is provided. The unit handles border babies and other special patient needs. Expected procedures include versions, induction of labor, cervical ripening, and bereavement care for IUFD. Cesarean sections are also part of the responsibilities.
