Job Title: Travel Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent Labor and Delivery experience in an acute care hospital setting License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring Must-Have: Minimum 2 years recent Labor and Delivery experience Experience with fetal monitoring interpretation Experience circulating Cesarean sections Management of high-risk obstetric patients and obstetric emergencies Epic EMR experience Description: The unit has 15 labor rooms, 3 bed triage bay, and 2 operating rooms. There are 45 staff members across day and night shifts. Patient ratios are typically 1:1 for laboring patients and up to 1:3 for early labor/antepartum/triage. The unit uses various equipment including electronic fetal monitors, IV pumps, and maternal telemetry monitoring. Candidates should be comfortable independently managing laboring patients and high-risk pregnancies. Experience with induction, fetal monitoring, vaginal deliveries, and immediate postpartum care is required. Preferred experience includes high-risk obstetrics, magnesium sulfate administration, and cesarean sections. Ideal candidates demonstrate strong assessment skills, effective communication, and teamwork. They should be adaptable, patient-centered, and capable of responding to obstetric emergencies. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams is essential for this role. The personality fit should be team-oriented, calm under pressure, and have a positive, patient-centered approach. Candidates should be prepared for rotating weekend shifts.
