Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of current Labor and Delivery experience License: Valid RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, NRP Must-Have: - 2 years of current experience in Labor and Delivery - Experience with charting systems - Ability to float to Mother/Baby unit based on staffing needs Description: Travelers must be available for on-call duty, totaling 36 hours every 6 weeks. Every other weekend or 2 weekends per month availability is required. Candidates must be flexible in floating to different units as needed. The nurse-patient ratio in the Labor and Delivery unit is 1:2. Experience with various skills such as administration of blood products, amnioinfusion, and support for breastfeeding is essential. Knowledge of managing postpartum care and recognizing abnormal fetal heart rate patterns is necessary. Candidates should be adept in procedures like assisting with vaginal deliveries, C-sections, and triaging obstetrical patients. Experience with modalities such as epidural anesthesia and use of fetal heart monitoring is required. Travelers cannot request time off during major holidays or holiday weekends. All certifications must be current and valid prior to starting the position. Nurse candidates must be able and willing to work within file and patient care protocols.
