Utilizes appropriate protocols to administer medications and treatments, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatment. Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided. Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers. Identifies issues and resources as needed. All newly hired experienced RNs must attend orientation within the first 30 days of hire. New hires will be precepted by a designated trained staff member. Initial onboarding requirements will be validated through successful completion of designated organizational entry competency validation and specific competency validation. Completion of all annual competency verification requirements is necessary. Experience in a perinatal setting is preferred.
