The unit includes 8 labor rooms, 3 triage rooms, 1 OR suite, and 1 PACU. On average, the unit manages 4 to 6 patients per day. Patient ratios follow AWHONN Staffing Guidelines of 1:2 during inactive labor, 1:1 during active labor, and 1:3-4 for couplets. A charge nurse is available 24/7 to support the staff. Phlebotomy services for peripheral blood draw are provided. Respiratory Therapy is available 24/7 within the facility. The unit uses Epic as the electronic medical record system. IV pumps, medication dispensing systems, fetal monitors, and other specialized equipment such as scales and ultrasound are utilized. CST staffing is 1 per shift. Floating to other facilities within the region may be required based on needs. Travelers may be called back for low census. Holiday work expectation is 75%. RTO requests for up to 6 days off can be approved, excluding holidays. Teamwork is a core value in the unit culture. Scrub color is green and is issued by the facility.
