Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Must possess a valid nursing license Certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Beginner, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, NRPS Must-Have: - Previous charge experience preferred - Experience with patient ratios: Labor 1:2, Antepartum 1:3, Mother-Baby 1:3 - Experience with electronic charting system Description: The registered nurse will work in the Labor and Delivery specialty. This role will require skills in the administration of blood and blood products. Nurses will perform amnioinfusion and assist with high-risk deliveries. Experience with breastfeeding support and lactation support is essential. The nurse will provide pain assessment and management, including the use of epidural anesthesia. Knowledge of postpartum hemorrhage management is required. The role includes recovery care following cesarean sections. The nurse will be involved in teaching parents about discharge procedures and infant care. Experience with labor and delivery procedures and assessments is critical. The role requires effective communication and teamwork with interdisciplinary support services. Travel experience is required for this position. Nurses will be expected to triage obstetrical patients and respond to emergencies as needed. Knowledge of fetal heart monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias is necessary. Patient care will include care for neonates and adults in a busy hospital setting. The daily census will include an average of 14 patients in the unit.
