Job Title: RN - Labor & Delivery/Postpartum Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor & Delivery/Postpartum Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Labor and Delivery, ability to work in LDRP License: Current Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, EFM, NRP Must-Have: Labor and Delivery Nurse skills including labor management, circulating cesarean sections, pre-op, PACU, triage, resuscitation of newborns, Pitocin management, and epidural management Description: We are seeking a skilled registered nurse for the Labor and Delivery/Postpartum specialty. This unit features 8 labor rooms, 3 triage rooms, 1 OR suite, and 1 PACU. On average, the unit handles 4 to 6 patients per day. Patient ratios follow AWHONN staffing guidelines: 1:2 during inactive labor, 1:1 during active labor, and 1:3-4 for couplets. Support is available from a charge nurse 24/7. Phlebotomy support is provided for peripheral blood draws. Respiratory therapy is available 24/7 within the facility. Clientists are on-site 24/7 for newborn care. Floating within region and scope of practice may be required as needed. The schedule includes weekend rotations every other weekend and the possibility of low census call. Travelers may be called back if needed during specific hours. Holiday work expectations are that travelers will work 75% of holidays. Requests for time off can be approved for up to 6 days, excluding holidays. The unit promotes a culture of teamwork.
