Job Title: Travel RN - L&D Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor & Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year of current hospital L&D RN experience License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, EFM-C or AWHONN Preferred Must-Have: - Minimum 1 year current hospital L&D RN experience - BLS, ACLS, NRP, EFM-C or AWHONN Description: We are seeking a Travel RN for Labor and Delivery. This position is in a delivery room unit with 26 beds. The unit staff consists of 112 members. Staffing includes 1 Charge Nurse, 14 nurses, 2-3 Surgical Technologists, and 2 unit clerks on the day shift. Night shift staffing includes 1 Charge Nurse, 12 nurses, 2 Surgical Technologists, and 1 unit clerk. Patient ratios vary and include 1:1 for high-risk labor and c-sections, 1:2 for antepartum, and 1:3 for postpartum patients not on baby care. Equipment used includes Alaris pumps, PCA pumps, Monica Novii telemetry, and CPN monitors. The EMR system in use is Meditech/CPN. Typical procedures performed include C-sections, inductions, AROM, IUPC, DFM, and Doppler monitoring. Candidates should be compassionate, caring, friendly, patient, and solution-oriented. A team nursing approach is emphasized, where nurses support each other in their tasks. The leadership team is strong and supportive, willing to assist nurses on the floor. The unit has many tenured nurses with 20-40 years of experience. Self-scheduling is available, contributing to staff satisfaction. A new OB Clientist program has recently begun, providing support for both the residency program and nurses working in triage.
