General Information:
The unit features 9 labor and delivery rooms, 8 postpartum/GYN rooms, 2 operating room suites, and a 23-bed well-baby nursery.
There are over 50 staff members on the team.
Staff composition includes day shift directors, managers, couplet nurses, birth response nurses, and labor and delivery nurses, as well as scrub techs.
Night shift includes a clinical coordinator or charge nurse, birth response nurses, couplet nurses, labor and delivery nurses, and scrub techs.
Patient ratios are 3 couplets per nurse, with a 1:1 ratio for active labor, Pitocin, and epidural patients.
Key equipment utilized includes Corometrics and EMR Centricity Perinatal & Meditech.
Preferred qualifications include experience as a circulator for cesarean sections, first assist, and scrub training.
Typical procedures performed include labor and delivery, cesarean sections, postpartum care, and newborn care.
The unit also manages OBED triage, inductions, and support for midwives.
The ideal candidate will be energetic and self-directed.
Floating is limited to within the unit only.
The dress code includes provided scrubs.
Weekend shifts are required, with a schedule of 4 weekends per month, including both Saturday and Sunday day shifts, and Friday and Saturday night shifts.
While there is no call requirement for travel staff, there may be opportunities for extra shifts.
