Labor and delivery experience, including the ability to labor and recover mothers and transition newborns, including assessment.
Experience with shoulder dystocia, postpartum hemorrhage, and other potential OB emergencies preferred.
Advanced skills required in fetal monitoring, inductions (Pitocin, Cervidil).
Description:
This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor & Delivery.
The unit consists of LDRP beds, OBED, NICU, and one OR suite.
Patient ratios include 1:1 for active labors, inductions, and C-sections, and couplet care of 1:3.
Newborns are cared for 1:1 until stable, with NICU care at 1:3 intermediate level.
Two NICU nurses must be present in the unit if there are patients requiring care.
There are no techs or unit secretaries available on the unit.
Equipment utilized includes central monitoring, IV pumps, infant warmers, tele-med robot for neonatologists, bili-blankets, and PCA pumps.
Documentation is conducted using Meditech and CPN.
Full-time scheduling requires three shifts per week, with rotating weekends and holidays.
Staff may be required to float within the facility based on staffing needs, with cross-training available for LDRP and NICU.
Patient experience is prioritized with daily rounding on all patients, focusing on safety.
The unit consists of experienced RNs, providing excellent support and preceptorship.
