# Job Opportunity – Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse – Texas**Start Date:** September 7, 2026 **Location:** Humble, Texas **Compensation:** Details provided to qualified applicants **Schedule:** Day shift: 8 RNs per shift; Night shift: 7 RNs per shift. Patient ratios vary by acuity: Observation 1:2-4, Antepartum 1:2-4, Labor and Delivery 1:1-2. Four weekend shifts per schedule period (4-week rotation). Potential for up to 2 shift cancellations per 13-week contract based on census.**Highlights:**- 10 labor beds, 2 labor/delivery/operating rooms, 2 LD PACU bays, 7 antepartum beds, and 4 observation stretchers- EMR systems include Meditech and GE CPN Centricity for comprehensive documentation- Supportive staffing model with dedicated charge nurses, unit secretaries, scrub techs, and transitional care nurses on each shift- Comprehensive case mix including oxytocin induction/augmentation, magnesium sulfate therapy, cesarean section circulating, NSTs, FSE/IUPC placement, and insulin drip management- Modern equipment including bedside ultrasounds, fetal monitors, infant warmers, and OR equipment- Floating primarily limited to antepartum unit**Requirements:**- Minimum 2 complete years of Labor and Delivery experience (post-orientation)- Current BLS, ACLS, NRP (from AAP), and AWOHNN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certifications required- Demonstrated competency in magnesium sulfate drip management and oxytocin management- Experience with insulin drip management- Sterile vaginal exam proficiency and FSE/IUPC placement skills- Flexible, adaptable personality with strong teamwork orientation- Transitional care nursing (TCN) experience preferred but not required**Why It's a Great Opportunity:**This Labor and Delivery position offers the chance to work with a robust 79-member team in a well-equipped, comprehensive perinatal unit.
