Description:
This position requires working three 12-hour shifts, including every other weekend and scheduled holidays as needed.
The nurse will float to maternal assessment unit, mother-baby unit, and obstetric surgical center as required.
The role includes care for laboring patients and high acuity situations.
The unit has 18 beds and operates using Triton and SurgiCount.
Responsibilities include administration of medications, monitoring fetal heart rates, and assisting with high-risk deliveries.
The nurse will perform various procedures such as cervical cerclage, drawing blood, and managing IVs.
Experience with epidural anesthesia, labor and delivery, and neonatal resuscitation is essential.
The staff collaborates with interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient care.
The daily census averages 16 patients, with a focus on laboring patients.
Travelers may be floated to different units as needed.
All RNs must pass a compliance EKG exam with two attempts allowed.
Modules are required for completion during orientation and are unit-based.
