Job Summary
Join our dedicated team as a Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse in a newly renovated Women’s Health Center located in DeRidder, Louisiana. This role offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive, compassionate care to mothers and newborns in a supportive environment.
You will be integral to managing an average of 30-40 births per month, playing a crucial role in ensuring positive outcomes for both mother and baby throughout the labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct and individualized nursing care to laboring, delivering, and postpartum patients.
- Monitor maternal and fetal well-being, including continuous fetal heart rate monitoring and interpretation.
- Assist physicians and other healthcare professionals during vaginal deliveries and C-sections, including OR circulation duties.
- Perform immediate newborn assessments and provide initial care post-delivery.
- Administer medications, initiate IVs, and perform other treatments as prescribed.
- Educate patients and families on labor progression, pain management, postpartum recovery, and newborn care.
- Maintain accurate and thorough electronic health records.
- Respond to obstetric emergencies with critical thinking and swift action.
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Experience as a Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse.
- Demonstrated proficiency in OR circulation procedures within a Labor & Delivery setting.
