BLS and NRP certifications must be in hand at the time of submission. Every other weekend coverage is necessary. The unit does not accept first-time travelers. Travel experience is a must. Nurses will assist with high-risk deliveries, vaginal deliveries, and cesarean sections. Experience with various patient conditions and fetal heart monitoring is required. Candidates should be proficient in administering medications and performing necessary assessments. Float to like units may be required based on facility needs. Units typically handle 100-200 births per month. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, respiratory services, and social services.
