Description: The Labor and Delivery unit has 9 labor and delivery rooms, 3 operating rooms, 4 post-anesthesia care unit beds, 4 observation beds, and 2 antepartum beds. The unit is staffed by 38 personnel. During the day shift, there is 1 charge nurse, 4-6 labor and delivery RNs, 1 transition nurse, 1 operating room technician, and 1 unit secretary. During the night shift, there is 1 charge nurse, 4-5 labor and delivery RNs, 1 transition nurse, and 1 operating room technician. Patient ratios are 1:1 to 1:2. The unit utilizes EMR Meditech/CPN for documentation. Desired skill set includes management of laboring patients and circulating in cesarean sections. The best personality fit for the unit is outgoing and collaborative. Floating may be required to postpartum. Dress code is royal blue scrubs. Weekend shifts are required with 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule.
