- 2 complete years of Labor and Delivery experience (post-orientation)
- ACLS, BLS, AWOHNN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, and NRP
- Magnesium Sulfate and Oxytocin management
- Insulin drip management (occasionally)
Description:
The unit features 4 OBED stretchers, 7 Antepartum Beds, and 10 labor beds.
Staff includes a varied team with both day and night shifts.
Patient ratios vary based on acuity: OBED (1:2-4), APU (1:2-4), LDU (1:1-2).
Equipment on the unit includes bedside ultrasounds, dopplers, fetal monitors, and infant warmers.
The team works with a variety of technology including EMR systems.
Typical procedures performed on the unit include:
- Sterile vaginal exams
- FSE/IUPC placement
- Circulating Cesarean section
- NSTs
- Oxytocin induction/augmentation
- Magnesium Sulfate therapy for preeclampsia and fetal neuroprotection
- Insulin drip titration
The ideal candidate will demonstrate flexibility in their role.
Candidates with experience in TCN (Transition care nursing of neonates) are preferred but not required.
Please adhere to the unit's guidelines and policies regarding attendance and scheduling commitments.
The unit may have the capacity to cancel shifts depending on patient census.
Weekend shifts may be required as part of the scheduling commitment.
