Candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role. Description: The unit has 14 labor beds, 2 operating rooms, 6 recovery bays, and 8 antepartum beds. It is staffed with approximately 40 personnel. Day shift typically consists of 1 charge nurse, 3-4 RNs, and 1-2 CSTs. Night shift typically consists of 1 charge nurse, 3-4 RNs, and 1-2 CSTs. Patient ratios are 1:2 for labor and 1:4 for antepartum. Equipment utilized includes GE EFM and an EMR system. Typical procedures performed on the unit include vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, bilateral tubal ligations, D&C, uterine tamponade devices, magnesium drip and titration, and Pitocin drip and titration. The ideal candidate should exhibit a positive, compassionate, and flexible demeanor. Floats may be needed to antepartum and postpartum areas. Rotating weekends will be required.
