Job Title: RN - Labor and Delivery Profession: RN Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 8 weeks Shift: 19:00 - 07:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year in high-risk labor and delivery License: RN Certifications: Intermediate AWHONN fetal monitoring certificate Must-Have: High-risk obstetrical bedside training. Experience in circulating for C-sections in the labor and delivery area. Experience recovering high acuity patients. Description: This position is for a travel RN in labor and delivery. The assignment is for 8 weeks. Shift is from 19:00 to 07:00. The facility typically adheres to AWHONN staffing ratios. When cervical ripening occurs, the ratio is 2:1. For triage, the ratio is 3:1. Stable post-operative magnesium patients will have a ratio of 2:1. For unstable magnesium or laboring magnesium patients, the ratio is 1:1. During active labor or pitocin administration, the ratio is 1:1. In early labor, the ratio is 2:1. High-risk and high-volume experience is required. The unit is a high-risk obstetrical unit with labor and delivery services. Estimated patient ratios are 2:1 and 3:1. Procedures performed on the unit include vaginal deliveries, C-sections, D&Cs, and post-delivery recovery care. Documentation is performed using Meditech and CPNS systems. Staffing may involve floating to an antepartum unit as needed. Attendance policies will be strictly followed. Clean and healthy nails are required; artificial nails are not permitted. Hair should be neat and pulled back if shoulder length or longer. Visible piercings other than earrings are prohibited. Tattoos should be covered whenever feasible.
