Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 6 Weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 1 Year License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: NRP, BLS, EFM Must-Have: RN Labor and Delivery Experience Description: The unit has 14 beds in Labor and Delivery and 9 Antepartum beds. It is staffed by a total of 33 personnel including Registered Nurses and Certified Surgical Technologists. Core staff for day shift consists of 1 Clinical Nurse Coordinator, 3 Registered Nurses, 1-2 Certified Surgical Technologists, and 1 Antepartum Nurse. Night shift core staff includes 1 Clinical Nurse Coordinator, 3 Registered Nurses, 1-2 Certified Surgical Technologists, and 1 Antepartum Nurse. Patient ratios are 1:1 for laboring patients in the final stage or C-section and 1:4 for Antepartum patients. Equipment used includes operating rooms, fetal heart monitors, and ultrasound machines. The Electronic Medical Records system in use is Meditech. Typical procedures performed on the unit include caring for laboring patients and assisting in operating rooms with C-sections. Preferred candidates should have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Labor and Delivery experience. The ideal personality for this role is assertive yet friendly and a critical thinker. Weekend rotation and call duties are required. Dress code consists of royal blue scrubs. Women Labor and Delivery-related policies apply.
