Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders. Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment. Must be able to work with minimal supervision. Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required. Will be required to work up to six weekend shifts and holidays as needed. Labor and Delivery nurses provide critical care to expectant mothers and newborns. They monitor maternal and fetal vital signs, manage pain, and assist with deliveries. They educate families on postpartum recovery.
