Description:
The unit has 9 Labor and Delivery beds, 3 swing rooms, and 2 operating rooms.
It operates with a patient ratio of 1:2.
Staffing includes unit secretaries, scrub techs, dedicated CRNA, and midwife in-house 24/7, with an on-call OB-GYN.
Equipment includes a documentation system.
Scheduling requires 4 weekend shifts per month.
Floating may occur to maternity/baby or outside departments as needed.
Patient experience must remain above 75%.
Certifications required include RN, ACLS, BLS, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring.
The dress code includes hot pink and black uniforms, with a preference for hot pink on top.
The unit has received recognition as a Unit of Distinction and participated in pilot programs for quality care.
The laborist team model ensures midwives are available 24/7 with dedicated CRNA and OB on call.
Specialization in personalized birth experiences is a priority, promoting couplet care in the postpartum unit.
All newborns stay at the bedside to support breastfeeding, with donor milk available when necessary.
The unit includes an 8-bed Level 2 NICU with a Nurse Practitioner dedicated 24/7.
This role may involve attending all high-risk deliveries as needed.
