The unit has 12 beds and a patient ratio of 1:2. Staff includes RNs, a unit secretary, and OR techs. The equipment used includes documentation systems such as CPN and Meditach. Schedule requirements include 3 weekend shifts and 1 call shift for RNs. Travelers will float first according to the floating policy. Patient experience requirements emphasize shared decision making. Advanced skills needed for RNs include care of the laboring patient and care of the newborn immediately after delivery. Additionally, the RN will circulate and recover c-section patients. Procedures performed on the unit include vaginal deliveries, c-sections, D&C, cerclage, epidural anesthesia, and tub labor. Dress code requires scrubs in Ceil Blue, Navy Blue, or Gray.
