Job Title: RN Mom/Baby Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Post Partum/Mom Baby Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Registered Nurse License required Certifications: NRP, BLS Must-Have: Mother/Baby experience Description: Travel opportunity for a Registered Nurse specializing in Post Partum/Mom Baby care. The position involves providing care for mothers and newborns in a unit with a total of 70 beds. There is a team of 120 staff members. During day shifts, the staff includes 1 charge nurse, 2 resource nurses, 2 admitting nurses, and 7-15 Registered Nurses along with 2 Patient Care Technicians. Night shift patient ratios are typically 6 patients to 1 nurse for couplets. The unit utilizes electronic medical records for documentation. Candidates must have experience in Mother/Baby care to be considered for this role. Preference will be given to candidates with NICU or postpartum experience. Typical procedures performed in the unit include Mother/Baby care, lactation support, phototherapy, blood sugar checks, and IV antibiotics. The ideal candidate will possess a positive attitude, flexibility, and a team player mentality. Floating as a resource nurse is rare, but may occur. Weekend shifts typically require 3-4 shifts per schedule, and no on-call hours are required.
