Prime Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Anchorage, Alaska.

We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse to join a high-risk Women’s and Infants unit at an acute-care hospital in Alaska. The RN will provide comprehensive care to patients during labor, delivery, and the antepartum period, including patients requiring induction and close monitoring for pregnancy-related complications.
The ideal candidate will be confident in maternal and fetal assessment, labor management, obstetric triage, and emergency response. First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply if they meet the clinical and credentialing requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess maternal health and monitor fetal well-being throughout labor and delivery.
- Monitor fetal heart rate patterns and recognize signs of maternal or fetal distress.
- Provide nursing care for patients undergoing labor induction and those with high-risk pregnancies.
- Support vaginal deliveries and assist with cesarean deliveries and other obstetric procedures as needed.
- Perform OB triage assessments and prioritize care according to patient acuity.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments and monitor patient responses.
- Provide antepartum, immediate postpartum, and patient education services within the assigned scope.
- Recognize and respond promptly to obstetric emergencies.
- Collaborate with obstetric providers, anesthesia, and the multidisciplinary care team.
- Maintain accurate patient documentation using Epic.
- Float to similar units when required by facility needs.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery nursing experience.
- Active Alaska RN license for auto-offer.
- Current BLS certification.
- Current ACLS certification.
- AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced certifications.
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
- Ability to work night shifts, every other weekend, and the required rotating schedule.
