We are seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery for a 13-week night-shift assignment in California. Candidates must have strong labor and delivery experience, advanced fetal monitoring skills, and recent experience performing sterile vaginal exams and managing high-risk obstetric patients.

First-time travelers are welcome! However, recent EPIC experience and advanced L&D clinical competency are mandatory.

Hard Requirements

• Minimum 2.5 years of nursing experience.
• Recent experience performing sterile vaginal examinations (SVEs).
• Recent experience managing high-risk labor and delivery patients.
• Advanced fetal monitoring experience.
• Knowledge of the CMQCC Category II fetal heart rate tracing algorithm.
• EPIC experience is mandatory.
• Active California RN license at submission.
• Current required certifications must be included with submission.
• Professional references required.

• AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring

Clinical Responsibilities & Required Skills

• Manage low- and high-risk labor and delivery patients.
• Perform sterile vaginal examinations.
• Utilize external fetal monitoring.
• Recognize and manage abnormal fetal heart rate patterns.
• Apply the CMQCC Category II algorithm.
• Circulate for Cesarean-section procedures.
• Provide safe, evidence-based maternal and neonatal care.
• Collaborate with OB hospitalists, OB anesthesia, NICU, postpartum, and interdisciplinary support teams.
• Float to Perinatal when needed.

• 11 Labor, Delivery, and Recovery (LDR) rooms
• 2 Operating Rooms
• NICU and Postpartum services
• 24-hour OB hospitalist and OB anesthesia coverage
• Patient population: Neonates, adolescents, and adults
• Patient acuity: Low- and high-risk L&D

Unit Systems & Technology:

• EPIC – Required
• Allscripts/eMD
• Omnicell
• SBAR communication

Interdisciplinary Support: Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, and Unit Secretary.
