Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery (L&D) registered nurse position available in a women's services unit. Located in an acute care facility, this role involves providing maternal and newborn care, following established guidelines for patient ratios and safety. The position offers an opportunity to work with a comprehensive team supporting obstetric, postpartum, and neonatal patients.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, weekends as needed, with a minimum of 48 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid license to practice as a registered nurse (RN), with certifications including BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring; at least 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery, postpartum, and circulating roles; certification in Stable (taken at least once).
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with triage and titrating titratable/ set rate drips, including Pitocin, magnesium, and insulin; experience working with obstetric and neonatal patients.
- Additional Information: The unit staff follows AWHONN guidelines for patient ratios, primarily 1:1 in labor and delivery and 1:6 in postpartum care. The team includes charge nurses, resource RNs, and a hospitalist OB, neonatologist, neonatology nurse practitioners, and CRNA anesthesiologists available 24/7. Support staff includes CNA, unit clerk, and on-call midwives. No telemonitoring techs are on site. Customized orientation typically lasts 4-6 shifts. This assignment begins on 10/12/2026 and concludes on 01/11/2027, with the client reserving the right to cancel up to four shifts per 13-week period.
